The journey back from Worcester was unpleasant - heavy rain throughout the journey, mist through the Cotswolds. Worst part, however, was the stretch from Winchester across to West Meon. GF was stuck in a long queue of slow moving traffic that took over 30 minutes to do 11 miles. Why? A hat.
At first it seemed as if GF was several cars back, stuck behind two trucks carrying portaloos. The queue ground on through the hills, and lengthened by the minute.
At West Meon the portaloos turned off.
There at the head of the queue was a Ford Ka. The portaloos had been stuck behind the Ka. As we passed beyond West Meon we got the chance to overtake. Irritated by the delay, GF glanced at the
perpetrator driver. This is when the Gorse Fox realised that the Ka was being driven by a hat. That was all that was visible above the window line... a hat. A hat that in the occasional moment of madness reached 30mph, then realising the recklessness of such speeds dropped back to 25 or less.
