Independence

It was two years ago today that the Gorse Fox regained his independence, having retired from Starlet after a tad under 30 years... and some 43 years in the industry. It is a good opportunity to take stock.

• How much does he miss work? - None at all.
• How much does he miss getting up early to drive across country to some other town for the week? - Not at all.
• How much does he miss commuting by rail to London? - None at all.
• How much does he miss commuting weekly to Edinburgh? - None at all.
• How much does he miss dealing with clients (the ignorati)? - None at all.
• How much does he miss the bullying attitudes of know-nothing "leaders" who make unachievable commitments and expect everyone else to make them happen? - None at all.
• How much do I miss spending weekdays away from home? - None at all.

With that assessment in mind, the Gorse Fox asks himself "Are you really happy?" - too right he is!
