Santa was a devil
He woke me with his sleigh
Wide awake at 3 a.m.
Is too early in the day
I couldn't drift back off to sleep
I tossed and turned and rolled
but wrapped up in a duckdown quilt
at least I wasn't cold
I went downstairs and drank some tea
and settled in a chair
and several hours later
dropped off to sleep right there
