I was up first this morning. Ellie, though awake, waited until Nana woke at eight. It was then a bit of a rush as we had to get into Chichester for Ellie's dental appointment. We decided that the bus should take the strain. It was a good decision. Most of the car parks were full and the streets were heaving with traffic and pedestrians. I left Diane and Ellie on their way to the dentist and spent 40 minutes getting some walking under my belt. I looped around and back several times and discovered an open area that I had not previously realised was the site of the old Roman amphitheatre.
Once we all met up again, we went to do a little shopping and then stopped off at Crispin's for a snack. In the end, we decided the snack was sufficient to last the rest of the day, so there was no dinner this evening. We caught the bus home (Ellie does like going upstairs on the double-deckers). Once home, we spent some time playing games. Again we played Bingo, and then Nana played Noughts and Crosses before Ellie and I played chess. It was a good game, but it was clear that (though she had asked for the game) her heart wasn't in it. She played some sneaky moves, but the attrition she was suffering meant that I took her to checkmate after about 40 minutes.
Pete's just been to collect Ellie. She'll be with him until Xmas morning.
