It was nearly one o'clock before Diane, Zoe and Ellie returned from the hospital. It appears that Ellie has a chest infection and has been given some antibiotics. By the time they got home, Ellie was asleep and it was 10 o'clock this morning before she woke up. She has started on the medication regime and will hopefully recover quickly. Clearly, she did not go to school today and is unlikely to return before the end of term on Thursday.
Despite the very late night, I was awake at the usual time but did manage to stay put until nearly 7:30. It was another hour or so before Diane emerged.
The morning was spent finishing off all of the Christmas cards (both real and virtual). It did mean, however, that I had to raid Sainsbury's for an extra box of cards. As I left the house, I found that Yodel had left a package on our doorstep. It was a 35kg box containing our new bookcase. I slid it (I couldn't lift it) into the hall and then headed out.
Back home, with the extra Xmas cards, and tank full of petrol, I set about the assembly of the bookcase. The instructions were not as good as some recent items we have bought, but with a bit of thought it became obvious what needed to be done and the the unit was soon complete.
Diane came to my rescue when it came to finding the optimum location for the bookcase. It is now under the lounge window and contains all of my blogs.
