There was no hurry to get up this morning. In fact, I managed to lie in until 07:10. By then, however, coffee was singing its siren song. When the time came, I wandered around to Zoe's for the school walk and then set off for my pre-breakfast exercise.
Back home, with breakfast finished, I completed the week's shopping list and, when Di was ready, we headed to Sainsbury's. Considering the time, I was expecting it to be busy, but I suspect there was a problem with the Zombie bus as the aisles seemed free of the usual shuffling imbeciles that arrive mid-morning on Thursdays.
Home and unpacked, we grabbed some lunch before retiring to the Orangery for some reading. I read for about an hour, then set off for another walk in the bright November sunshine. I've started a new audiobook, but am not convinced that I will stick with it. I'll give a few more sessions before I decide.
By the time I arrived home, it was time to collect Ellie from the after-school Craft Club. She came home and started to tell us about fossils, crystals, and volcanoes. Meanwhile, I was preparing what she calls "Grandpa's Curry" for her dinner. Once that was underway, I started on our sticky chicken pieces with sweet potato fries and beans. I think we all ate our fill.
Ellie is staying with us overnight.
