Mid-evening, yesterday, Zoe called. Could Ellie come and sleep with us, as there were overnight staffing problems at the store, and Zoe would have to go in to help sort things out? Of course, we said, expecting her round within a short while. The phone rang. It was Zoe. Ellie's friend Ariana's mum said Ellie could sleep over... so we had been outbid. After all the arrangements of the evening, it turned out that Zoe didn't have to go in after all, but Ellie had a sleepover with Ariana, and we didn't have to get up early this morning.
Ellie and Ariana were dropped off here soon after 09:00 and played nicely for an hour or so until Ariana's mum came and claimed them for the rest of the day.
Meanwhile, Diane had a pile of ironing to get through (I told her to leave all of my stuff, as I would do that tomorrow). I had various bits of admin to get through, the most important of which was a thorough review of the Red Bull Maritime eSim, what it costs, how it works, and so forth. I am fairly happy that I now have a grip on the product, though I can't download and activate it before 4th September (as it runs for 30 days).
It appears that Kim is still having trouble with her back and called to ask me to collect a completed form from the local surgery. I popped around and grabbed the form, then scanned it and sent it to her so that she could get it sent off.
The tail end of Hurricane Erin has wandered across the Atlantic and has collided with this Sceptred Isle. Cornwall has been getting some impressive waves. We, however, have had little more than a few heavy showers. The gardens certainly need the rain, but it hasn't amounted to much so far.
The rest of the day has been quite relaxed. I have finished my latest Kindle book, downloaded another AudioBook, and started another Kindle book.
