The satisfaction in being proved right is, however, almost always offset by the fact that you know it could all have been avoided, and that the mess now reflects no credit on anyone.<br /><br />I once told a senior (parachutist) manager at my former place of work in a very similar situation - "You F****d it. You fix it." I was only a few months away from pension.
