Back of the net

It was very cold this morning and soon after the Gorse Fox came down, it started to sleet/rain. Fortunately it didn't last long but it was still cold when he headed out for today's football.

We had an uneven 6-v-5 turnout today. The Gorse Fox was on the yellow team (5 players). We had to work hard, but were 4-3 up by half time. In the second half, despite some lovely passing we slipped behind and eventually ended up the losing team by 9 goals to 8. The Gorse Fox can at least console himself that 2 of the goals were from him... keeping up his goal tally.

Back home we received a call from Cousteau-Cub, but it was just a "check-in" rather than a long chat. Hopefully we'll chat longer in the next day or so.

We spent a couple of hours over the road with the Sonning Crew. It was, ostensibly, afternoon tea but a fair bit of wine was involved. It was nice to catch up after their holiday... but clearly it hadn't been quite the success  that Jamaica had been.

Once home we had some supper and then settled down to watch the recorded last nights Strictly Come Dancing final. The Silver Vixen had managed to survive the day without knowing who had won, so was able to watch with a degree of suspense. (The Gorse Fox knew the result, but kept quiet).

Had a further chat with Cousteau-Cub during the afternoon. Lots of changes afoot - but more about that as things pan out.
