NHS rallies 'echo poll tax anger'

The BBC reports on the protests that are building up against the threatened cuts in the NHS. But the government has told us:
The government has said the practice of providing a wide range of care under one roof was not right for the 21st century.
NHS Trusts are looking at shifting care away from hospitals into community settings and placing greater emphasis on the private sector and 60 sites are said to be under threat.
Ahh, that's why they've spent the last 20 years closing the local community hospitals, is it? And pray, why is it not right to provide services under one roof. Surely, that cuts patient and visitor journey times and journeys - thus saving lives and reducing carbon emissions from unnecessary travel?

Now, GF does not see the NHS as some sacrosanct totem - it has to change and the spineless governments of the last 20 years have failed to grasp the nettle that will otherwise bankrupt the few remaining wealth creators left in the country. But for goodness sake do something sensible and start charging for services (paid through insurance) don't just kill people by closing their local hospitals. MMmmm, interesting to see a class action suit from a smart lawyer on this subject!

Gorse Fox cannot adequately express his contempt for this government.
