Well GF's gadget appears to be pretty ggod. He has managed to play several of his old Video-8 tapes into the gadget and produced pretty good MPEG files on the computer. GF was worried that, over time, old video would deteriorate. (Indeed he has some old VHS that's allmost disappeared now). Once captured digitally, huwever, he can preserve it on a number of different media.
