Football

GF, as has been revealed before, enjoys football. He is truly puzzled by a number of things:
  • The Game itself
    • Where is the passion?
    • Where are the Health and Safety executives?
    • Where are the TV replays to enable controversial decisions to be checked... say, penalty claims, goal-line disputes, and sending-off. The ref has an instant to make a decision, the rest of us can watch dozens of replays showing why the ref is wrong. Let's give him the same opportunity.
  • The Commentary
    • Are they watching the same game that GF is watching?
    • Why are the BBC commentators so patronising?
    • Why are the BBC, ITV and Channel 5 commentators so fatuous
    • Why do the commentators continually blurt out useless information
"Well actually, Graham, Stuart is the first England player since 1923 to keep coal in his bath, and hang out his washing on Mondays"
  • The post-match Media
    • Were they watching the same match that GF was watching?
    • Have any of them ever played football?
    • Have any of them ever played any sport, competetively?
    • Why should objective reporting get in the way of personal bias?
    • Why shouldn't they try and undermine sportsmen when they have reached the top?

Now, that being said, what about yesterday's game? GF suspects that the least said, the better. No pace, no pride, no passion, no purpose.
