There is, rightly, a great deal of speculation regarding Avian Flu. The primary concerns are that the virus could infect a human and then mutate and become transmissable between humans. This has the potential to creat a widespread epidemic, or even pandemic. Needless to say there is a vast amount of hype and scaremongering in the media.
