Fryan's Hanger

As the intrepid walkers strode on they reached the A285 and started the long climb up to top of the Downs.

GF was heartened, on the climb, that his youthful companion was puffing and panting almost as much as he was. The sedentary jobs that we both occupy take their toll on the fitness levels. A long climb like this reminds you of the fact! GF is not saying the sound of his own breathing, and the pounding of his heart drowned out the traffic... but it was a close run thing.

Nearing the top of the climb is a marked viewpoint called "Fryan's Hanger" looking out across the weald to the north west. This also proved a camera magnet.

Interesting fact: this is the first entry on the web (at least as far as Google's index goes) that mentions Fryan's Hanger
