Homo Ferus

Working at home, as the Gorse Fox has today, he feels somewhat remote from the cowardly, selfish atrocities that occurred in London today. He has watched the story unfold using the web, radio, and TV.

Watching the reaction of Londoners, commuters, the Emergency Services (and even our politicians); GF is proud of this English nation, its stoicism in real adversity, and its sheer cussedness.

People will, no doubt, argue the rights and wrongs of terrorists, and freedom-fighters. They will say we brought this on ourselves. I can only look on such cretins with pity.

GF believes that whatever your religion or ethnic background there are standards of behaviour and morality that are ingrained into the DNA of human beings. Human beings know what is innately right and what is obviously wrong. This is one of the basic building blocks that has allowed homo sapiens to spread across the world. The good have always outnumbered the bad, and so we continue as a race.

Terrorism, for let us not mince words, is a level of depravity. People sink into this sub-human state. They have lost the basic morals that are the membership card to civilisation, society, indeed to the human race.
